And we now have yet another "Ah Shit" episode of the Barry "Almighty" style of foreign policy with the White House coming out and repudiating a statement from the U.S. embassy in Cairo that essentially did nothing more than to apologize for individuals who may have “hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.” Lord knows, we certainly shouldn't be allowed to hurt the feeling of those sweet, peace loving people, right? This idiotic apology came on Tuesday after rioting Islamist murderers in Egypt took down the American flag at the embassy and tore it apart after trying to burn it because they were 'upset' about some anti-Muslim film being produced in America.
“The statement by Embassy Cairo was not cleared by Washington and does not reflect the views of the United States government,” so said some imbecilic senior official from Barry's administration to Politico. The U.S. embassy in Cairo put out the following Barry-style conciliatory statement early Tuesday: “The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.” Which the White House almost immediately distanced itself from after realizing it sounded a bit too apologetic, considering the previous events of the day.
The Cairo embassy was bombarded with criticism for not defending free speech when responding to acts of violence. Later on Tuesday, an American was killed at the U.S. consulate in Libya by rioting Muslims upset over the previously mentioned anti-Islam film. The Wall Street Journal reported that the film depicts the Muslim prophet Muhammed as a “womanizer, pedophile and fraud.” Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney released a statement in response to the developments in Egypt and in Libya, saying it is “disgraceful” that Barry's initial response was to “sympathize” with, and not actually condemn, these murdering Muslim demonstrators.
Sounding more presidential than our actual president, Mr. Romney said, “I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi. It‘s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.” And we're somehow supposed to believe that because Barry likes to refer to himself as being a "tested Leader", he is one? As evidenced by this most recent situation, which is part of a continuing, and very troubling, trend that we see developing, he very obviously is not.
And then we have our stellar Secretary of State, Hitlery Clinton who took what was described as a balanced approach in condemned the mobs‘ action while also criticizing the film and declaring the United States’ commitment to “religious tolerance.” “Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind,” Clinton said in a statement.
Demonstrating once again that his is pretty much a presidency running on autopilot, Barry, like Nero, fiddles, or plays golf, while everything around him proceeds to go up in smoke, literally not just figuratively. While the economy implodes here at home, with yet another credit rating reduction possibly looming just over the horizon, and as the Middle East continues to go up in flames, somehow Barry manages to still lead in many polls. Which, I suppose, says just as much, if not more about us, the American people, that it does about Barry. These are troubling times, my friends, and most of what we are now seeing is a direct result of a weakened America.
Barry and the Democrats talk a great deal about how America is the source of so much evil in the world. But even a cursory glance back over the last three years, a time when, thanks to Barry, America has been severely weakened on nearly every front, we see that without a strong and vibrant America things can, very quickly, deteriorate. But apparently we haven't yet reached the point where things are important enough to interfere with Barry's campaign to get re-elected or to attend his many fundraisers. Barry sees his being able to rule for another four years as being what's most important because that will allow him to complete his task of "fundamentally transforming" our country. He is not to be bothered with such trivial matters as this most recent flare up in the Middle East, after all, he's got an election to win.
