AND HOLLYWOOD WONDERS WHY NO ONE'S GOING TO THE MOVIES?

I'm not sure who it was in their infinite wisdom that thought, traitorous skank, Jane Fonda should play Nancy Reagan, in the upcoming film, "The Butler", but that is in fact the case. And we now have the first look at Hanoi Jane as Nancy Reagan along with some guy named Alan Rickman who appears as "The Gipper." The film is billed as a historical drama based on, of all things, a Washington Post article about longtime White House servant Eugene Allen, who served eight presidents from Harry Truman through Ronald Reagan. The announcement of Hanoi Jane's casting did raise more than a few eyebrows when it was made public back in March, because I think Hanoi Jane is probably the last person anyone would think of to play Mrs. Reagan.

Now I'm sure there was more than one reason for having this commie playing Mrs. Reagan. One reason was to effectively poke a finger in the eye of Reagan fans everywhere by having the well-known communist sympathizer portraying the iconic former first lady. Hanoi Jane wrote on her website last month claiming just how proud she was to playing her, and saying she knows Nancy Reagan herself is "pleased" about it. Right! “I’m excited about this. I feel very ready to take her on… I know that she (Nancy) is pleased that I am playing her. I know this because a friend of mine, writer Annette Tapert, was at a party given for her… birthday. I asked Annette to tell Ms Reagan I was honored to be playing her,” Fonda wrote.

Ya know, this is the kind of stuff that goes a long way in explaining why Hollywood is having less than a banner year. They're more interested in making a political statement than they are in making a movie that people would actually want to go see. There always has to be some little message, some subliminal liberal moral going on in many of the movies being made today. Either we're seeing evil corporation on the rampage, or are provided with 'proof' of how we're destroying the planet, or, as I'm sure this movie about the Reagans will attempt to show, how conservatives have a stone age mentality and are simply too stupid to be relied upon to lead our country. I stopped going to the movies some time ago, it just became not worth what I was being asked to pay.

I mean, I don't go to the movies to be lectured to, I go to the movies to be entertained. And since that was happening less and less, I thought, why waste the money? Most of those who appear in movies today have less education than I do, and yet they profess to be so in tune with what needs to be done economically, environmentally or socially in order to better our society. But they haven't got the brains to come in out of the rain. That these sanctimonious, self-righteous, drugged out, alcoholic, dysfunction individuals feel that they are somehow entitled to dictate to me how I should go about living my life is really pretty ironic since most, in their own private lives, are freakin train wrecks, in and out of some form of rehab every week.
